Rose painting without drawing

This watercolor of a rose in a jam-jar was painted directly, using SimmTrace, No drawing. Just painting over the virtual image, so easy, and great fun! I will make a video of this way of working soon.

New SimmTrace software available
I will be posting more. The original version is still available. I beleive the new version is better as you can make any image window transarent. You can then use any webcam software, as long as it gives you a large preview window. Then any window containing an image can be placed over the webcam window, then adjust transparency to enable easy trace down. Simples. : - )

Evaluating other software to use with SimmTrace
I have been actively hunting for some time for another way to operate SimmTrace. I wanted to have an opaque webcam image and be able to adjust the transparency of any window with an image on it, over the top. The best free webcam software I have found is Pryme which allows you to re-size the window and keeps aspect ratio. Be sure to check 'preview' to get a moving image!

Artist in the USA using Simmtrace
TheLadyDragonfly, a Professional Artist from Wyoming in the USA has been kind enough to produce a detailed overview of her experience making and using SimmTrace. This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping for, that others would begin to use and enjoy this simple, but effective way of helping your creative process. I would encourage you to follow her blog, if you have google reader or similar rss reader, simply click 'follow' and then you will see new posts added to your reader page. Her blog is called 'Musings of a working Artist'
