Hi Roy, I have downloaded Simmtrace2, I tried to get it to start from the desktop icon, 'no go' also from the start menu/programs. My O/s is XP. When I start the program I get a box on the screen Simmtrace2.exe
simmtrace transparency. when I click on it, the box disappears then Nothing. I have removed/reinstalled same result. I also downloaded Pryme no problem there. What do you think I am doing wrong. I am looking forward to your help as I would like to try the software.
Cheers, Bill

Hi Bill, Simmtrace 2 works slightly differently, if you download the documentation that should explain it. If you see a green 'H' on the taskbar that is simmtrace 2 it is written with a program called autohotkey.

If you bring up a window then press cntrl and a number, you adjust the transparency of any window.

I have installed both versions 1 and 2 of SimmTrace and both open successfully. Unfortunately, I am unable to download the Pryme webcam driver without registering and paying $29. Is it no longer free? I am so excited to try SimmTrace!!

In reply to the Pryme Question, I dont know where you went for the file, but on this link
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Pryme-Download-67978.html
It is the free version.
Also with version 2 you can use any webcam software, as long as you have a good preview window (which most will have)

Wish this program was available for the mac....:(, cheers, Annelies

Hi Annelise,

Other Mac users have done it using vlc media player, which has a transparency option and an option to preview a webcam.
Also you only need a way to make a window semi transparent, so maybe there is another program to do that on Mac? It is just a process really, a very simple program.

Hi Bill,
I can't thank you enough for this! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am pursuing drawing with Matthew Archambault (google him) and am not a young person, so, having this helps me get things done while I do my studies on drawing. Don't tell Matthew that I am here, though! LOL!!! You Rock!

Pryme is still free- it is freeware, you may have been 'tricked' into looking at another program, I will look into hosting the file myself although for ST2 (which I reccomend) you can use any webcam software (see the documentation)

Hi Roy

Love ST but i did a test using an image of circle on my monitor but it came out on paper egg shaped (vertical). Obviously doing portraits makes faces look
e-longated.

Ive changed settings on my PC to various from the lowest (640x ??) to the highest with no noticable change

Help Eddie

You need to make sure your preview is actually 'square' if you drag a corner etc it will distort. Watch Jullias video for full details.
